Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown hits the PS5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X in just a few weeks and is packed with sci-fi action
Space lovers will be able to explore the universe and meet all kinds of weird and hostile aliens in a new Star Trek game.
Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown blends exploration with space combat and spaceship resource simulation on the PS5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X.
And it arrives just as new telly series Starfleet Academy wows fans on streaming service Paramount+.
Across the Unknown is set in the Delta Quadrant, an area of the galaxy a long way away from Earth packed with violent species including the deadly sci-fi foe – the Borg.
You captain spaceship Voyager, the craft that featured in a 90s spin-off Star Trek show of the same name for seven series.
Characters like Captain Janeway, Seven of Nine and Nelix return as you’re tasked with not only keeping the baddies at bay but maintaining the ship in a Sims-management style of gameplay as well as exploring 12 regions of the quadrant.
The end game, like in the show, is to get the ship and her crew home to Earth.
A spokesman for developer Daedalic Entertainment said: “Player decisions shape both the fate of the crew and the configuration of the U.S.S. Voyager itself.
“With each playthrough, the ship becomes a different version of itself—reengineered and reimagined based on the path taken through the quadrant and the command decisions made along the way.
“In Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown, players take command of the U.S.S. Voyager as it traverses 12 vast sectors of the Delta Quadrant. Along the way, they’ll manage systems and crew, engage in diplomacy, navigate difficult moral decisions, and face the unknown.
“Familiar faces return, but their fates may differ—reshaped by the captain on the bridge.”
The game releases on February 18.
A demo for Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to follow soon as well as the updated version for the Steam PC demo.
