Gogglebox stars ‘haven’t changed a bit’ as fans floored by throwback snaps

Channel 4 Gogglebox stars Simon and Jane Minty have shared throwback photos from 2016, with fans amazed at how they ‘haven’t aged’ in 10 years

Gogglebox favourites Simon and Jane Minty have been showered with affection after posting a pair of nostalgic photos. The Channel 4 reality programme has been a staple of our telly viewing since its debut in 2013, and we’ve seen a host of families join and depart.

Many stick around for quite some time, including brother and sister duo Simon and Jane Minty, who have been fixtures on the Channel 4 series for several years. Having joined the Gogglebox crew in 2021, the pair have rapidly won over viewers, known for their vibrant homes and, of course, Simon’s masterful handling of the remote control.

Simon and Jane, who joined during the show’s 18th series, initially filmed Gogglebox from Simon’s former flat, memorable for its strikingly colourful book collection. Now based in Surrey, the siblings currently film from Jane’s equally vibrant home, following Simon’s relocation to a new residence.

The pair also maintain a shared Instagram account, primarily dedicated to their Gogglebox escapades, keeping followers up to date with the Channel 4 show and sharing snippets of their personal lives. On Sunday (January 19), the siblings took to social media to share a couple of snaps taken a decade ago.

In one photograph, Simon is pictured beside his sister as they relax in the garden. Jane can be seen in a striking pink dress with coordinating footwear, clutching a glass in one hand whilst draping her other arm across her brother’s shoulder, reports the Manchester Evening News.

A second image shows the siblings, formally dressed, beaming at the camera. The post was simply captioned: “Our 2016,” leaving followers astonished at how little the duo had aged over the past decade.

Fans flocked to the comments section, with one writing: “You haven’t changed. You both look great.” Another added: “You haven’t changed a bit, lovely,” whilst a third remarked: “You’ve not aged both.”

“You two haven’t aged! What’s the secret? !” questioned one admirer, as another agreed: “You don’t look any different x.” Beyond their appearances on Gogglebox, Jane works as a chef, whilst Simon, who was born with restricted growth, campaigns tirelessly for disability rights.

He founded Sminty Ltd, a consultancy that supports businesses in improving their accessibility for people with disabilities. Simon’s impressive client roster includes major organisations such as the BBC, HSBC, and The Football Association.

The sibling duo consistently update their 54,000 Instagram followers with glimpses into their everyday lives. Most recently, Simon posted a snap from an outing with mates, which included a very recognisable face. The photograph shows Simon posing with Liz Carr.

Liz is a renowned actress, comedian, and disability rights campaigner, celebrated for her roles in hit series such as Good Omens and The Witcher. She also played forensic examiner Clarissa Mullery in the popular crime drama Silent Witness.
