The Strictly Come Dancing star competed on the BBC show back in 2024.

Strictly’s Dr Punam returns to Morning Live

At the beginning of the year, Strictly Come Dancing star Dr Punam Krishan used social media to reveal to her supporters that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The BBC personality, who took part in the beloved programme in 2024, disclosed that she had received her diagnosis five months earlier and had been receiving treatment ever since.

But this week, Dr Punam hit a significant landmark, celebrating the completion of her treatment in a touching manner alongside her son.

Posting a clip on Instagram, the 42-year-old could be seen soaring above the canopy on a zip line with her boy.

She wrote beneath the footage: “Marking the end of treatment and a really rocky season – with something unexpected..”

“This journey was never just mine – it was carried by my children too, in different ways. So little did I know that my 12-year-old had planned a surprise that couldn’t have felt more perfect.

“In a previous life, you couldn’t have paid me to do this. But I guess when you’ve faced the greatest fear – for me, illness, uncertainty, and the fragility of life – everything begins to look like one big, beautiful adventure you’re suddenly willing to say YES to.

“So when my wee boy said, ‘Mum, when I say jump, we jump together, ‘ I closed my eyes. I trusted him. And the next second, we were flying across the most breathtaking forest.”

The BBC personality described the experience as ‘pure fun’ to her fans and admitted to feeling ‘so alive’ following the adventure, reports Wales Online.

She continued, “Sharing that moment with him was so special – we both needed it. So I’m stepping into February with this energy – feeling so grateful for all that is, and for all the adventures still to come.”

After sharing the video, Dr Punam was inundated with support, with many applauding the heart-pounding activity.

One person commented, “Good for you, love this, and what a well-deserved celebration of how far you’ve come, core memories made right there!”

Another chimed in: “What a beautiful thing for your son to suggest for you both, very well done and hope you’re well xx.”

While another penned: “Brilliant! Well done to your son for arranging it x”
