The United Strand’s scissors will be staying in his draw after Manchester United failed to win five games on the spin.
It’s the first time since Frank Ilett started his venture, over 490 days ago, that United were one game away from winning five-in-a-row. However, after Tomas Soucek turned the ball home, Frank might have realised his luscious locks were safe.
On his livestream, Frank’s hands fell into his head as others around him looked stunned. Benjamin Sesko’s later equaliser wasn’t enough to raise his spirts as the timer now resets for Frank and his, quite frankly, impressive afro.

Originally from Oxford and living in Spain, Frank has pledged to donate his hair to the Little Princess Trust once he’s eventually allowed to trim it.
However, it has been 18 months since he last stepped foot in the barber, something Paddy Power joked about in a cheeky social media stunt.
And his viral trim hasn’t gone unnoticed at United: “I can say I’m aware of it, yeah,” Carrick said when asked about Frank in his pre-match press conference.
“My kids have made me aware of it, if anything, but it certainly won’t go into the team talk from a professional level. I can understand what’s going on with it and it does make me smile but it won’t have an impact ultimately in the end.”
United captain Bruno Fernandes was asked a similar question after scoring in the 2-0 win over 10-man Spurs on Saturday, but gave it short shrift.
“I need to book for myself, I don’t look at other people,” Fernandes said. “I don’t look if they need to go to the hair dresser or not, that is not important for me.”
And his haircut was referenced throughout the evening on TNT Sports, with Darren Fletcher joking he might never cut his again.
Frank will now have March 20 circled in his calendar for the Red Devils’ trip to Bournemouth.
