“Not only do you need to watch your calorie intake, but you need to get your steps in. Walking is one of the best things you can do for your cardiovascular health – and this is where the Fitbit Versa 4 comes in to play.

“It tracks my steps, making sure I hit that minimum 8,000 steps per day, and giving me a weekly overview so I can increase how much I’m walking if I’ve only hit that.”

Tom went on to say: “Without the ability to track my metrics, I would not have been able to achieve this weight loss – 11kg/24lbs – and along with feeling infinitely more confident, I also have more energy then I sometimes know what to do with.”

Using a Fitbit heart rate tracker

Tom is a fan of the device’s heart rate tracker, stating: “It shows when you wake up, when your heart rate is peaking and any abnormal spikes, as well as your resting beats per minute.

“This is crucial for monitoring your heart health. You can also compare it with other people your age – keeping in mind these are averages and may vary depending on different factors, even caffeine intake.”

Another standout feature of the design, according to Tom, is the motivational aspect. “The watch will notify you every 10,000 steps, which is really rewarding.

“I personally love this as I live for tiny hits of dopamine to be motivated to even breathe, so getting a little celebration after a walk is great.” The popular fitness watch has seen a price cut on Amazon, down from £150 to less than £129, and it seems Tom isn’t the only fan.
