Ex-nurse Lucy Letby is serving several life terms after she was convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to kill seven more – but now she is making money from behind bars

Sick child killer Lucy Letby has managed to scoop a top job in prison as she continues to endure a “cushy” jail stint. She is now making her fellow inmates jealous after landing the position, and making money from it.

Letby is serving several life sentences after being found guilty of killing seven babies at the Countess of Chester hospital. She was also convicted of attempting to kill another seven during her time as a neo-natal nurse.

Since then, she has been locked up at HMP Bronzefield, spending her time alongside some of the UK’s most revolting and sickening prisoners. But after she celebrated her 36th birthday last week, she is now earning cash from her latest job inside the slammer.

According to the Sun, Letby has been working as a cleaner at the prison, but this is all set to change. It was revealed by insiders that she has managed to bag herself a job working as a prison librarian.

Sources said: “Letby is cock-a-hoop as it is the top job in a prison. She is the librarian on her unit and that can make her popular if she gives friends what they want.

“Jail librarians often do their mates favours,” they continued. “She can go round on a trolley and deliver boxsets to cells.”

The insider added that many of her fellow prison lags are not happy about what they see as unfair favouritism of Lucy by prison guards. They went on to say that many inmates are “jealous”, thinking that she is getting an “easy ride”.

However, the source said that despite the slew of jealousy running rife around her, she is in fact a “model prisoner”. The insider added that by keeping herself out of trouble and keeping herself clean, she gets good treatment.

Letby has been held in custody since she was first arrested in 2020, and is currently serving her sentences on Unit 4 of HMP Bronzefield in Surrey. She is in good company as other notorious child killers are in with her, including Constance Marten and Beinash Batool.

Back in 2024, she attempted on two separate occasions to challenge and overturn the convictions made against her. However, the Criminal Cases Review Commission ruled against her.
