‘I tried Wetherspoons game with my American pal and couldn’t believe the results’

An American here in the UK tried taking his friend from back home for his first ever trip to Wetherspoons – and let’s just say, it quickly escalated within minutes

There’s nothing more British than a trip to your local Wetherspoons. It’s cheap, cheerful and just everything you need with a little bit more, right?

Now one American in the UK wanted his friend from across the pond to experience true British culture – so he took him for his first trip to Wetherspoons and it didn’t disappoint. Kalani decided it was time for his good pal Chris to enjoy his first trip to the iconic pub chain but things quickly escalated when the famous Wetherspoons game was played.

Kalani listened to fans’ requests about playing the game where he shared his table number and location for followers.

In a video with his 3.3million followers on TikTok, he began: “The British might be the most unserious people ever and you guys continually remind me of this.

“So last night I took my friend to Spoons and this was his first experience as an American, he’s never been here before.”

He continued: “And a lot of you guys commented that you wanted me to play the Spoons game where I gave you my table number, tell you where I’m at and you guys order stuff to the table for my friend and I.

“Well after posting my table number within 3 minutes, the Wetherspoons had shut off the orders and staff said it was the most orders they’ve ever seen on the screen ever, even on the busiest night, it was the busiest it’s ever been in three minutes.”

Seconds later, Kalani shared a photo of him and his friend Chris in Wetherspoons and surrounding them were bowls of peas and several shots.

He joked: “You guys order so many peas I think there is now a shortage in the UK and the amount of alcohol that was ordered to my table would have taken out a small town. And now you have my friend looking like this the morning after…”

Sharing the aftermath, Kalani asked his friend: “How are you doing bud?” to which Chris replied: I’ve been better.”

He also questioned: “How was your first Spoons experience?” and Chris responded: “Everything you told me it was going to be.” Kalani joked: “Did you get enough peas?” while his friend replied: “Why did you guys order so many peas.”

The content creator then said: “They know how much you love peas,” Chris added: “I frigging hate peas.”

Concluding the video, he said: “You guys didn’t fail me, I was hoping you’d be sending me as many peas as their stock… You guys are insane.”
