UK demands 24 Hours in Police Custody episode with Prince Andrew prison footage

Channel 4 viewers have called for a special episode of 24 Hours in Police Custody following Andrew’s arrest with fans demanding bodycam footage of his time under their watch

Channel 4 fans have demanded producers create a 24 Hours in Police Custody special following Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s arrest on 19 February. On the morning of the disgraced royal’s 66th birthday, the former Duke of York was detained on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Nine police forces were photographed descending on his temporary residence at Wood Farm before he was apprehended and transported to Aylsham police station in Norfolk.

Andrew had his fingerprints and photographs taken during processing before being placed in a police cell. Officers detained Andrew for more than 10 hours at the isolated station and are believed to have interrogated him regarding claims that he disclosed official documents and briefings to business associates, including Jeffrey Epstein.

Thames Valley police confirmed the late Queen Elizabeth’s son has been “released under investigation” as their searches conclude. Now, Channel 4 audiences are urging producers to provide a comprehensive examination of the case with a special episode of their popular programme, 24 Hours in Police Custody.

Brits rushed to X/Twitter to appeal to television executives online, reports the Express. One user wrote: “Channel 4, I would like to formally request a 90-minute special of 24 Hours in Police Custody on the arrest of ex-Prince Andrew. Full timeline. Bodycam. Interview room. No sympathetic lighting.”

Another joked: “The Channel 4 film crew are on their way to film a new episode of 24 Hours in Police Custody,” as a third agreed: “I hope it’s on 24 Hours in Police Custody.”

This follows Channel 4’s announcement of a major alteration to its 24 Hours in Police Custody schedule this week after airing its “worst ever” episode. Usually airing weekly at 9pm on Tuesday, the broadcaster has announced a change this week that fans of 24 Hours in Police Custody will need to be aware of.

Instead of broadcasting on Tuesday at 9pm, the upcoming episode will now air at 9pm on Monday, February 16, followed by another true crime programme, 999 What Happened Next. Meanwhile, Tuesday evening will showcase a documentary titled The Tony Blair Story.
