Luke Littler’s head loss has continued onto social media as The Nuke shared some stories on Instagram after an on-stage bust-up with Gian van Veen
Luke Littler has continued his frustrations onto social media after a spicy on-stage bust-up with Gian van Veen.
The Nuke, 19, had clashed with the Dutchman in the quarter-finals of Premier League Darts in Manchester when he battled back from 4-1 to 5-5. However, there was some needle between the pair after Van Veen missed D15.
Van Veen shot a look towards the crowd and Littler – who responded by flinging his arms up in the air. The Nuke then looked over to the family section and performed a crybaby gesture. And he’s now continued his fury on social media.

In one post, Littler shared Van Veen’s version of events, adding three laughing emojis.
Speaking to Dutch broadcaster Viaplay, Van Veen opened up on what was said on stage: “I’m on 90 and miss double 15 on the inside, and then I see him cheering towards the crowd. I don’t think that’s normal.
“And then he makes that crying gesture too…He is a great darts player, but today he shows that he is not a good loser.
“Cheering over an opponent’s miss really annoys me. So that’s why I gave him an angry look. That he then misses three darts at a double, that’s his problem.”
Littler also shared his darting CV, flexing all the titles he has won in his short career, adding the caption: “goodnight, godbless, thank you Manchester.”
Somewhat hilariously, Littler had covered up his European Championship performances with his caption – covering up his Last 16 loss to James Wade in a competition that was won by Van Veen.
Fans shared the images on social media, as Littler’s “massive head loss” went viral.
Speaking on the incident, Wayne Mardle told Sky Sports: “I know exactly what happened. Gian van Veen went inside on D15 and Luke was happy about that so kind of gave it the Simon Whitlock ‘well done’.
“You shouldn’t do that and as he has done that, Gian has turned around thinking ‘why did you do that’. I can lip read but I won’t repeat what Luke said as I don’t want to hand in my notice.
“You have got to say that Gian handled it better.”
