Arsenal got absolutely no sympathy from Chelsea as the club brutally mocked their London rivals straight after the Champions League final

Chelsea showed no mercy and could not resist a brutal swipe at London rivals Arsenal mere minutes after the Champions League final. The tears from the Arsenal players’ eyes had barely hit the ground before Chelsea posted an image of the Champions League trophy they won to promote a Stamford Bridge stadium tour after the Gunners’ heartbreaking penalty shootout loss.

The Ligue 1 side ran out 4-3 winners on penalties in Budapest to retain their Champions League crown, and the Blues took to social media to rub salt in the wounds of Mikel Arteta’s side.

On X, Chelsea shared a post inviting fans for a tour of Stamford Bridge, with the caption: “Come and visit London’s Home of Trophies. Book your Stadium Tour at Stamford Bridge now.”

The main image was a replica of the Champions League, which Chelsea won for the second time in 2020-21, beating Manchester City in the final.

That win meant they were the London club with the most Champions League titles, having also won the competition back in 2011-12, beating Bayern Munich on penalties at the Allianz Arena.

The Blues wasted little time in taking a brutal swipe at Arsenal, after a penalty shootout defeat meant their hunt for their first-ever Champions League crown continues.

The Blues shared a reel of images, with Club World Cup also pictured, having beaten PSG in the final of that competition last summer.

Former Chelsea star Kai Havertz gave the Gunners the lead after just five minutes, vindicating Mikel Arteta’s decision to start the German international up front instead of summer signing Viktor Gyokeres.

The 26-year-old scored the winner for the Blues in that win over Man City back in 2021 and showed his class again with a brilliant finish as the ball broke kindly for him after Marquinhos’ attempted clearance smashed into Leandro Trossard’s left shoulder.

Ousmane Dembele equalised from the spot after Cristhian Mosquera brought Khvicha Kvaratskhelia down inside the penalty area, with Daniel Siebert wasting no time in pointing to the spot.

The match finished 1-1 and went to penalties, where Eberechi Eze and Gabriel both fluffed their lines from 12 yards out as PSG ran out 4-3 winners.

The Ligue 1 side gained the initial mental advantage of the penalty shootout when they claimed the coin toss, with the decisive moments unfolding before their faithful at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.

Eze dragged his effort wide of the target before David Raya threw Arsenal a lifeline by denying Nuno Mendes.

With the shootout poised at 3-3, Lucas Beraldo wrong-footed Raya before Gabriel blazed his attempt over the crossbar and Arsenal’s aspirations of following their Premier League success with a maiden Champions League glory ended in heartbreak.

Gabriel, arguably Arsenal’s standout performer on the evening after putting his body on the line to thwart PSG across 120 minutes, reacted by pulling his shirt over his head as his teammates tried to comfort the devastated defender.
