High school teacher Jamie Varley, 37, has been found guilty at Preston Crown Court of the murder of adopted 13-month-old Preston Davey, and his partner John McGowan-Fazakerley, 32, has been convicted of allowing the death of the child.

It’s reported Varley put his hand to his mouth as the jury foreman read out the verdicts before collapsing and being sick in the dock. McGowan-Fazakerley stood motionless in the dock. Throughout the trial the court heard the evil pair used little Preston as their “plaything”, also allegedly sexually abusing the child in some of the worst ways imaginable.

Varley, 37, was convicted of murder, child cruelty, sexual offences and indecent images relating to Preston. McGowan-Fazakerley was convicted of allowing the death of a child, child cruelty and sexual assault.
