England cricket captain Ben Stokes has announced he is retiring mid-game.
The superstar, who is one of the finest to ever play the game, was in the middle of a bowling spell at Trent Bridge when a statement was released.
It confirmed Stokes intends to end his 15-year international career.
As the news spread through the crowd, Stokes took a wicket and dismissed Zak Foulkes after it was caught by vice-captain Harry Brook at second slip.
The crowd erupted into applause soon after.
The 35-year-old captain missed England’s second Test after being involved in an incident in a London nightclub.
