All five finalists on The 1% Club failed to answer the final question on Saturday night, with viewers claiming they got the ‘easy’ answer right at home

The 1% Club witnessed five finalists crash out during the final question on Saturday night.

Fronted by sharp-tongued comic Lee Mack, 57, the Saturday evening brain-teaser puts 100 participants through gruelling rounds of progressively harder questions, hunting for the cleverest 1% capable of solving the ultimate puzzle in just 30 seconds.

The format kicks off gently, with 90% of the population expected to ace the opening question, but the challenge becomes brutal towards the climax, leaving only genuine masterminds to attempt the final 1% test for a shot at bagging the £100,000 jackpot.

During Saturday’s episode, five contestants reached the final stage for the coveted 1% question. Only 1% of people can get this in 30 seconds, reports the Mirror.

The question read: “When Vince announced his engagement, his friends decided to buy him some celebratory balloons.

“His best man only bought the balloons to spell STAG LOCATION but Vince’s other friends insisted he go out and buy the additional balloons to spell CONGRATULATIONS.

“What were the other three balloon letters he needed to buy for them to be able to display the word CONGRATULATIONS?”

Tragically, all five finalists fluffed the question with presenter Lee revealing that the correct answer was actually R, U and N.

Lee said: “Unlucky, commiserations none of you made it into the 1% Club! Congratulations on getting as far.”

Taking to Twitter, now X, after the show, The 1% Club’s official account posted: “This is the 1% question from tonight’s show. Only 1% of people can get this in 30 seconds. Can you? #The1PercentClub.”

One user responded: “First one I actually got when no one else did” while another simply declared: “Easy”.

Another viewer exclaimed: “omg first one i got right ! !” and yet another chimed in: “One of the easiest 1% questions you have done.”

Meanwhile, a different viewer quipped: “Wonder did he have to “RUN” to get them? !” and another added: “Got this one only just on time tho!”.

The 1% Club returns on Saturday nights on ITV and ITV X.
