They were at loggerheads for years but it appears Liam and Noel Gallagher’s bond is stronger than ever as Liam has rushed to the defence of his big brother against trolls

It was recently revealed that Noel would be awarded the most prestigious gong at this year BRIT Awards – The Songwriter of the Year. However, fans have criticized organisers decision, complaining that he didn’t release any new music in 2025 and so therefore questioned whether he’s worthy of the recognition.

Now Liam has jumped to his older’s brother’s defence insisting that nobody deserves the prize more than Noel does. Replying to one follower who shared the BRIT announcement and moaned that he did “nothing this year”, Liam wrote on X “EXACTLY your missing the point think about it”.

Liam then agreed with another fan who commented: “Noel has had a bigger impact on song writing in the last 30 years than any other mother f### and deserves the award 100%”

He replied: “EXACTLY plus nobody writes songs anymore they think they do but they don’t”.

Liam then continued to reply “EXACTLY” to fans who remarked that Noel should “win every year” because he “wrote Slide Away” and to another that said “no new artist comes even close to what Oasis has done”.

Asked if he’s gutted he isn’t being recognised at the ceremony also, the 53-year-old reassured followers “Oasis are back I’m good” and that he “don’t need awards”.

Elsewhere whilst on X Liam was asked if they will be changing the setlist for their next reunion tour, to which he replied: “We won’t be changing it that much few twks here and there keep it fresh up to slice of lime on the east side of the west side DIG.”

There’s no confirmation of any more Oasis dates following their huge reunion tour last year, however Liam has repeatedly suggested that they will tour Europe in 2027.

And he shrugged off talks of new music, telling one follower that they “don’t” want new Oasis tunes when asked about the possibility.

The BRIT Awards will take place in the Gallagher’s hometown Manchester on February 28.
