A Gogglebox star was missing from the latest episode of the Channel 4 show, and their family were quick to share the reason why on social media before the episode aired

A cherished Gogglebox favourite was notably absent from Friday’s episode, prompting their family to swiftly clarify the situation.

The enduring Channel 4 programme made its return on Friday evening (February 13) with another instalment. Fan favourites including Pete and Sophie Sandiford alongside Ellie and Izzi Warner were back offering their commentary on the week’s television highlights.

The Plummer siblings – Tremaine, Twaine, and Tristan, who became part of the show in 2016 – also made their comeback. However, viewers noticed only Tremaine and Tristan occupying the familiar sofa spot.

Prior to the episode’s broadcast, the brothers took to Instagram to address Twaine’s absence. In their video explanation, they revealed: “It’s just the two T’s today as Twaine left us to go on holiday. So we’ve got a new member of the team now,” before introducing their charming canine companion.

The accompanying caption read: “Meet the new member of the team… @trissy101 @trem_vi Brand new #Gogglebox tonight at 9pm on @channel4.”, reports the Mirror.

Supporters immediately filled the comments with encouragement, whilst Twaine himself responded: “Wish I was there,” accompanied by disappointed emojis. One viewer wrote: “Enjoy the holiday you are missed tonight.”

Another admirer noted: “Happy Friday looking forward to watching you tonight. Hope he’s gone somewhere that’s sunny and dry.”

A third devotee proclaimed: “He’s another good-looking Plummer I’m glad you’re back with us we don’t see enough of you guys.”

The Plummer brothers burst onto Gogglebox screens a decade ago – and it wasn’t long before they captured viewers’ hearts.

Throughout the years, the Bristol-based siblings have left fans doubled over with laughter through their sharp wit, clever quips and hilarious commentary on television’s biggest moments.

Beyond their screen appearances, eldest brother Tremaine hosts a morning radio programme on Bristol’s Ujima FM, whilst Tristan has carved out a successful football career since 2007, alongside fellow sibling Twaine.

Last year saw Gogglebox introduce fresh faces to its lineup, including Glasgow duo Jake and Calum, plus the Gordon family from Surrey.

Additional newcomers featured married pair Andrew and Alfie from the Cotswolds, as well as Yorkshire’s mother-and-daughter-in-law duo Sara and Lara.

Gogglebox airs every Friday at 9pm on Channel 4.
