The rich and famous have taken truly their Valentine’s gifts to the next level.

Valentine’s Day is the most romantic time of the year. Couples around the world will be pulling out all the stops on Saturday (February 14) to show their partner just how much they mean to them.

But some celebs have taken full advantage of their fame and fortune in order to give their loved ones a Valentine’s Day they’ll never forget. Forget a meal at your favourite restaurant, why not hire out an aquarium for your significant other?

Or charter a private jet and whisk your beau away on a mystery date across the atlantic? Being a star certainly has its privileges. Daily Star has rounded up some of the most extravagant Valentine’s gifts of all time.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

John Legend quite literally took Valentine’s to the next level for his wife Chrissy Teigen in 2020.As an extra special gift, John whisked Chrissy away on a private jet and to add an extra bit of romance and surprise, he let Chrissy choose the destination that they visited.Chrissy later shared a photograph of the loved up couple in the jet as they were about to embark on their journey, with the caption: “I’m on a magical mystery date! Luckiest girl alive.”

David and Victoria Beckham

Apparently, David gave his pop star wife Victoria an extremely expensive necklace back in 2006. The former footballer was rumoured to have gifted Posh an $8million [£6.59m) Bulgari necklace decorated with diamonds and rubies for the most romantic day of the year.We reckon that would be good enough for fashionista, and anyone on the planet for that matter. She showed off the bling at the 2006 Met Gala.

Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox

MGK proved his commitment to Megan Fox in a very gothic way back in February 2021. He revealed he wears a glass necklace containing a drop of the actresses’ blood.

He showed off the rather unsettling gift on Instagram and told Megan and their fans: “I wear your blood around my neck”. The pair got engaged the following year but are no longer an item and co-parent their daughter Saga.

Michael B Jordan and Lori Harvey

The Creed star truly raised the bar when he rented out a whole aquarium for his ex Lori Harvey in 2021. Not only this, but he filled the floor with rose petals and candles and even hired luxury Japanese eatery Nobu to cater for them.

Lori gushed over the grand gesture: “My baby rented the aquarium so we could do a private tour and see the turtles and then we walked into this.”

He didn’t stop there. The actor also purchased stock in the luxury fashion company Hermès in her name. Lori took to Instagram with a snap of the slip.

It’s not known how much he invested, but we can safely assume it wasn’t a tenner. Showing off the slip, Lori wrote: “The best gift ever… baby bought me stocks in Hermes.”

Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne got the bouquet of flowers to end all bouquets of flowers on Valentine’s Day in 2021. But what might surprise you is that the WWE legend was the one who received them.

You might assume he was being a good husband but it was his daughters who got him the beautiful floral arrangement. He gushed over them in his Instagram post.

Dwayne wrote: “Full transparency, I was shocked when this stunning arrangement arrived and I realized they were for ME from my girls. Then I read the card * swipe left * and that’s when I MAY have gotten a little [tearful emoji].

“I’m at a point in my crazy life that when people I love and care about show me the smallest of efforts — kind and caring — that stuff really moves me. Kindness. Caring. Effort.”

Chip and Joanna Gaines

Chip knew exactly how he could make his love note to wife Joanna stand out from the crowd. In 2019, he plastered “Chip [hearts] Jo” in huge green letters on a Silo and Magnolia Market in their hometown of Waco, Texas.

He pulled the same stunt following year, but this time in red lettering. Joanna clearly appreciated it as she replied on Instagram: “I love you too @chipgaines #happyvalentinesday.”

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian

Kanye and Kim have obviously broken up now, but the rapper pulled out all the stops in 2019. He surprised Kim with a private living room concert from world-famous saxophone player Kenny G.And if that wasn’t enough to impress the Instagram queen, her lavish lounge was filled with red, pink and white roses placed in individual vases.

Kim was blown away as she tweeted: “NO BIG DEAL KENNY G IN MY LIVING ROOM!!! Happy Valentines Day,”

The following year, he whisked her away to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico. The SKIMS founder wrote: “Little slice of heaven for Valentine’s Day,” alongside a sunset pic of an infinity pool.

Cardi B and Offset

Rapper Offset and Cardi B are known for their extravagant gifts, and in 2021 he gave her a Patek Philippe watch. These watches can cost up to hundreds of thousands of pounds.

The following year, he gave her six Chanel purses, another watch worth $375k and revealed a giant heart-shaped rose sculpture in their garden. Rose petals filled the swimming pool and also sprinkled all over the house. Safe to say he didn’t do it on the cheap.
