Love Island fans were unimpressed just minutes in tonight’s instalment of the ITV2 show.

Love Island viewers voiced the same grievance just moments into tonight’s episode, as a “cringe” scene had them reaching for the “mute” button on their TV remotes.

Tonight’s episode on ITV2 dealt with the fallout of a brutal game that culminated in tears and an unexpected eviction. Last week saw Maya Jama return to host the To Be Honest game, where Islanders were tasked with selecting a couple they believed best matched the given categories.

With topics like biggest game players, the atmosphere quickly became heated, leading to Lucinda Strafford fleeing in tears and host Maya stepping in to provide comfort. In another surprising turn of events, the game concluded with Sher and Jack being abruptly booted from the Love Island villa.

Tonight (February 15), saw the lads leave the villa for a morning out after Sean received a text saying: “Boys it’s time to swap Villa chats for a kickabout, you’re off for a game of footy, please get ready to leave the Villa.”

Shortly thereafter, the girls received their own text message, informing them that video calls from home were awaiting them, reports OK!.

However, as fans eagerly anticipated the ensuing conversations following the video calls, they soon found themselves cringing at their television screens. The boys were shown playing five-a-side football, with Scott and Harrison assuming the roles of team Captains.

After picking their teams, the boys kicked about a bit, but fans were not impressed. One viewer took to X to express their discomfort, writing: “Why am I cringing at them playing football.”

One viewer expressed their discomfort, stating: “Had to mute my laptop because there’s something so cringe about watching these pretty boys play footy idk esp bc some of them are american.”

Another chimed in: “Don’t really care about a bunch of grown men kicking a football.”

A fourth echoed the sentiment: “Who told #loveisland we care about watching pick-up football?”

A perplexed fan asked: “Why are we watching them play football right now?” Another commented: “No one really wants to watch them play football. Wth is this.”

An irate viewer vented: “Can they stop wasting time and showing the boys, we never cared about them.”

Despite the criticism, the segment did show the Islanders enjoying a drama-free afternoon. One person shared a picture of Sean and Scott, captioning it: “Enemies to lovers arc.”

Another observed: “It’s actually so nice to see scott and sean getting along.”

A third noted: “Sean with his arm around the back of Scott’s chair (he wouldn’t have done that a couple of weeks ago!!).”

Love Island All Stars continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
