TV superstar Gordon Ramsay has spoken out about his tragic brother Ronnie in a new interview in his Netflix series, Being Gordon Ramsay, admitting to feeling guilt

Gordon Ramsay has admitted is crippled by guilt over his troubled brother. While he has become a global superstar, tragic Ronnie has battled heroin addiction and spent time in prison.

In a candid moment in his new Netflix documentary, Gordon said: “I got dealt a dysfunctional card. That drives me. That puts fuel in my tank.

“I was so close to not making it. That’s what keeps me going.

“I have a brother who is a heroin addict. We shared a bunk bed. He’s 15 months younger than me and he’s been an addict for the past four decades.

“I’ve gone to hell and back with him. I have a guilt complex that could have been me.”

He added: “When that change is so close to you… it’s your brother, it’s not cousin, it’s not a mate down the pub, it’s your brother.

“Born in the same house, grew up in the same bedroom, shared bunk beds and so similar, but so different now.”

Gordon also opened up about his wayward dad in the series, which is now available to stream.

He said: “I sadly had a torrid relationship with my father.

“I couldn’t wait to spend time out of the house away from him. I had to sit there at weekends and almost watch him ruin his life through alcohol.

“It’s hard when someone’s an alcoholic. In many ways I’m using that awful relationship to become a better dad.”

Gordon also revealed his dad never ate at one of his famous restaurants.

He said: “Dad never felt comfortable… If I tried to show him what I’d learned it was over his head. He never once sat down at a table. That’s life.”

Gordon has six kids with wife Tana. They include Tilly, who competed on Strictly.

Gordon thinks becoming a dad himself has been good for him. He said: “Having kids sharpens you. You have to be super focused and super fair.”
