A seven-year-old boy who was reported missing has tragically died after being found in water at the Priory Golf and Activity Centre in March, Cambridgeshire, as a statement has been issued on the ‘heartbreaking loss’

A seven-year-old boy has tragically lost his life after being discovered in water at an activity centre after reports the child had gone missing.

Emergency services were called to the Priory Golf and Activity Centre on March Road, March, around 2pm on Monday (6 April).

The East of England Ambulance Service found a “child in the water”. The child was rushed to Peterborough City Hospital, where he sadly passed away.

The activity centre issued a statement regarding the incident on Thursday (April) 9, reports Cambridgeshire Live.

A spokesperson for the centre said: “On Monday, April 6, 2026 at approximately 2pm, a seven-year-old child who had been reported missing in the local area was found on our premises.

“Our team immediately contacted the police, assisted the child, and administered CPR until emergency services arrived. As a result of this incident, the centre was closed for the remainder of the day.

“Tragically, we were informed the following day that the child had passed away. Our deepest condolences and thoughts are with the child’s family and all those affected by this heartbreaking loss.”,

The spokesperson added that the centre would not be providing further details at this time.

They added: “We kindly ask that others refrain from sharing speculation or rumours on social media.

“The safety and wellbeing of all children on our site remains our highest priority. We would like to reassure our customers that this tragic incident was unrelated to our operations or activities, and the centre continues to operate as usual.

“Once again, our thoughts and prayers are with the family and everyone affected.”
