Euphoria star’s scene was so disgusting that crew gave her standing ovation after

HBO Max’s hit drama Euphoria is back with a third season that sees the return of huge stars Sydney Sweeney, Zendaya, Jacob Elordi and Chloe Cherry, but some fans aren’t impressed

It seems Euphoria fans aren’t as impressed with the new season as the crew is. One star’s scene was so grim that they gave her a standing ovation afterwards.

HBO Max’s hit drama series is back with its third season that sees the return of stars like Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi and Zendaya. The first episode – including a scene with Sydney Sweeney’s character dressed as a baby – has already sparked complaints.

Among the cast is Chloe Cherry, who has now taken on a lead role in the show that fans believe “has become very dark.” The 28-year-old actress plays Faye, a heroin addict who befriends Rue (Zendaya) as they both struggle with sobriety.

The pair are forced into helping their dealer smuggle drugs. They are tasked with swallowing small bags of a white powder to get them across the American border.

Zendaya’s character Rue struggles and brings in Faye to help. The uncomfortable scene saw them both gagging, sometimes vomiting, to swallow all of the bags.

Chloe recalled the day on set when they had to film the nasty scene. She told Metro: “Sam came up to me, and he said, ‘I need this scene to really show how disgusting it would actually be if you were to swallow balloons filled with fentanyl and how disgusted you would actually be.'”

“He was like, ‘I really, really, really, really, really need you to turn the disgust up in this scene,’ and I was like, all right, I’m gonna give it a go. I just managed to pull it off.”

The actress recalled the crew being just as appalled as the audience. However, they praised her dedication after shooting the scene. She added: “When we stopped shooting, everybody clapped. I’m not even kidding, the whole crew clapped for me. They were so amazed at how disgusting I made that scene.”

Fans, on the other hand, found the scene so repulsive, they ran to X to declare Euphoria as “dead.” One said: “At what point did Euphoria go from Euphoria to Breaking Bad?”

Another complained: “I don’t know if I’m watching an episode of Euphoria or of Narcos.” A third wrote, “This nasty as hell omg.”

It wasn’t the only scene from the first episode that fans called a “humiliation ritual.” Later in the episode, Sydney’s character Cassie was attempting to make money by posting provocative content online.

She was introduced pretending to be a dog as she wore a brown corset and doggy ears, as well as a collar and a leash. She even bit on a shoe and licked water out of a bowl.

Season 3 of Euphoria can now be streamed on HBO Max.
