The first celebrity of the series has been eliminated after Harry Redknapp faced an impossible decision

One I’m A Celebrity contestant has been compelled to exit the South African jungle after being ejected from camp in the series’ first elimination.

It was disclosed that Seann Walsh would be departing the jungle immediately after Lion King Harry Redknapp was obliged to make the tough choice.

As it’s pre-recorded, rather than the public voting to remove celebrities, the campmates themselves will decide who to say goodbye to after undertaking various challenging tasks.

The second series of the All-Star edition has been popular with viewers since its comeback. Now, as the 12 famous faces are nearing the end of the second week, the challenges are becoming more difficult for the campmates.

At the conclusion of Wednesday (April 15) night’s episode, Ant and Dec plunged the camp into turmoil when they announced that one of the Kings had to dismiss one of their faithful servants in the series’ first eviction, reports Wales Online.

Lion King Harry and Rhino King Jimmy Bullard were forced to compete against each other for the first time. In a shocking turn of events, the loser had to make the hard decision to send one of their team members home.

The two Kings participated in the eating trial, and it was a tight race as both stars completed every round. But unfortunately for Harry, Jimmy finished the last dish first.

During tonight’s (April 16) episode, Harry was compelled to undertake a harsh challenge following the fallout from the Beastly Braai trial. As the Rhinos emerged victorious, the defeated team’s King, Harry, was obliged to select a team member to depart camp permanently.

Speaking to the camera, Harry confessed: “It’s a bit like being a football manager, really. I did that every Saturday of my life. It’s just a shame someone has got to go.”

After being kept away from the trial, he returned to the Lions camp, and it wasn’t long before his fellow campmates began questioning him as Ashley enquired: “What did you do with Ant and Dec?”

Harry appeared crushed as he disclosed: “Unfortunately, because we lost, they’ve given me the difficult task of having to choose one of our fantastic campmates here to go home.”

Everyone was left stunned as Ashley interjected and demanded: “Now?! Are you serious? Is this a wind-up?”

Harry had little option but to break the grim news as he announced that he had decided to send Seann packing.

When Seann’s name was called out, the remaining campmates were heartbroken as they bid their farewells before the eliminated star went to chat with Ant and Dec about their jungle adventure.

When he asked about how felt to be leaving the jungle, he said: “I’ve just been dropped by Harry Redknapp. The QPR manager just dropped me from the squad. I can’t believe it.”

He continued: “Completely surreal experience. I mean, obviously, I finished fifth last time. My one goal in Australia was to not come last. I have finished last. You brought me back, and I did the thing I was most scared of. I can’t believe it. I just, anyway..”

I’m a Celebrity South Africa airs on weeknights at 9pm on ITV1 and is also available to stream on ITVX.
