Natalie Portman, 44, announces she’s pregnant with ‘miracle’ third child

Oscar winner Natalie Portman has revealed she is pregnant at 44 and is set to welcome her third child – and first with partner, French music producer Tanguay Destable

Natalie Portman has announced she is pregnant with her third child. The 44-year-old actress shared her exciting baby news on Friday (April 17), calling the unborn baby a “miracle”.

The Hollywood star shot to fame as Padme Amidala in the Star Wars films and has gone on to become one of the most famous actors on the planet. But the Oscar winner is now set to become a mum-of-three, and this will be her first with partner Tanguy Destable, 45, who is a French music producer.

She told Harper’s Bazaar: “Tanguy and I are very excited. I’m just very grateful. I know it’s such a privilege and a miracle.”

The Black Swan actress has two children from her previous marriage to choreographer Benjamin Millepied; son Aleph, 14, and nine-year-old daughter, Amalia. The pair split in 2023. Natalie has admitted she knows she is lucky to be pregnant again.

The actress said: “I have so many people I love who’ve had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well. It’s such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it’s also not an easy thing.

“And so I know how lucky it is. I’m very aware, and I’m very grateful. I have deep appreciation and gratitude.” She went on to say the feelings are different as she gets older, saying she didn’t necessarily grasp the gratitude previously.

She added: “And there’s a calm and knowing myself: who I want to spend time with, what kind of energy I want around me that makes the experience so beautiful every day. And knowing it’s probably the last time, I cherish every moment.”

Natalie recently opened up about how she tends to keep her personal life away from the spotlight. She told Interview magazine: ‘I’m not a particularly private person in real life – I’ll tell you anything – but in public, it was so clear early on that if you tell people how private you are, your privacy gets respected a lot more.”

She revealed the “little bit of a barrier” she put up as she refused to take on photo shoots with he children. She continued: “My kids are always a source of excitement, because you just see them develop into the individuals they are.

“Also, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my friends, with their kids and my kids; that’s pretty fun.”

Natalie and Tanguay have been romantically linked since last year. In March 2025, the duo were snapped looking cosy together with pics showing him with his arm around the actress’s shoulder.

They were also seen kissing while out in Paris. The musician and producer was previously married to French actress Louise Bourgoin.

The duo share two boys together, but split after 10 years. During his career, he worked with Lady Gaga for a film with Dom Pérignon.
