Love Island star breaks silence after that ‘kiss’ scandal wrecked their relationship

Love Island star Dami Hope has addressed his split from Indiyah Polack for first time since a viral video of her kissing someone else ended their almost four-year relationship

Former Love Island star Dami Hope has broken his silence on surprising split from Indiyah Polack for the first time since they called it quits in December and shared damming break-up statements.

The ex-couple met on the ITV show in 2022 and their relationship went from strength to strength after placing third, they quickly moved in together in London and remained united for three and a half years. However, on New Years Day 2026 it was revealed that they had split just weeks prior which came as a huge shock to the couple’s supporters.

Shortly afterwards Dami, 30, shared a damming and blunt statement confirming the break-up and suggesting that Indiyah had ben unfaithful. He wrote: “Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack are no longer together, having ended their relationship shortly after Christmas due to a breach of trust.”

Days later a TikTok video surfaced showing Indiyah, 27, passionately kissing basketball player Marlon Lundgren Garcia on December 3 at London restaurant Duck & Waffle.

After the footage emerged, Indiyah confirmed it was her in the clip, she wrote: “I am aware of the video that has been shared online.

“I made a mistake and take full responsibility for my actions. I understand the hurt this has caused. I won’t be commenting further.”

Now, Dami has spoken about the heartache for the first time on Paul C. Brunson’s podcast We Need To Talk admitting it was “complicated” because they lived together for weeks after he learned of the kiss.

He said there was no coming back from the betrayal, saying: “I felt angry, I felt like, ‘Why would you disrespect me and us like that?'” And he insisted he still “don’t actually know” the full truth as to what happened that night.

However, Dami could see a future with Indiyah, he shared: “We committed to each other for so long. We did so many anniversaries, so many holidays with each other.

“We did everything together. We talked about marriage.”

He ended it by saying that he still “cares” for his ex and they are “civil” now that they’ve had time to process the split.
