A Married At First Sight Australia groom has released a statement following explosive scenes which have yet to broadcast in the UK as he opens up about an emotional break up.
The dramatic series has concluded in Australia, with the couples revealing details about their experiences from the programme as viewers finally discover who, if anyone, remains together after what has been a turbulent series.
But UK audiences are experiencing the drama in full flow as this week marks Feedback Week, meaning the couples exchange partners and receive candid thoughts and opinions on their relationships.
As UK viewers witness the drama developing, Australian fans already know who reached final vows, and some may be let down to discover what transpires between Steven and Rachel, reports OK!
The pair have navigated numerous obstacles during their journey, and spoilers reveal they do indeed reach final vows, however, after the programme, it has been confirmed they have separated.
Now, Steven has used social media to break his silence on his relationship as he confessed he still harbours feelings for his former bride. In a TikTok video, captioned “Sometimes life lessons are learned the hard way, but it’s how we take those experiences and grow from them that really matters”, Steven shared his emotions post programme.
He said: “Stevo here with just a quick video update and look, I know a lot of you have been sending lots of questions and concerns, and they will all be answered in good time.
“But for now I just want to be super real and honest with you. The truth is things didn’t end the way I hoped, there is big regret, massive regret. I know I’ve lost something special. I’ve had a lot of time to reflect and really sit with my actions, my words, and the moments I wish I handled differently.”
He continued: “The truth is I probably give anything up to relive those moments and redo it all because when something is genuine, you don’t realise how special and rare it is until it’s not there in front of you anymore.
“If life ever opened that door again I know I’d walk it completely differently, with a little bit more clarity I guess, more patience and a whole lot more appreciation.”
The star went on to reveal he would be concentrating on “becoming a better man” and pledged to put in the effort and “grow day by day”.
He added: “There’s still a lot of respect there and feelings just don’t disappear, but for now all I can do is move forward the right way.”
After “realised his wrongdoings”, Steven continued that he would be “taking it one step at a time improving day by day.”
Rachel also posted on Instagram last week as she shared a heartfelt montage of clips and snaps from throughout her romance with Steven. She wrote: “There was so much of our story that never made it to screen – the quiet moments, the laughter, the depth of what we were building together. What we shared was real, and it was special in a way that I’ll always carry with me.
“I’ll never regret this journey or the love I found in it. But not every chapter is meant to last forever, and I think I’ve finally made peace with that. Closing this chapter doesn’t take away from what it was – it just makes space for what’s next.”
Married At First Sight Australia airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on E4.
