Salmonella warning to Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s shoppers over salad item

The popular salad topper is being recalled due to a “possible presence of salmonella” and shoppers who have bought the Good4U Super Sprouts Super Greens are urged to return it to the store where it was bought

An urgent ‘do not eat’ alert has been issued for a popular salad ingredient stocked at Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Morrisons.

The product is also being withdrawn due to “possible presence of salmonella” and customers are being told to take it back to where they purchased it.

Good4U is withdrawing its Super Sprouts Super Greens following potential salmonella contamination. Signs of salmonella can include fever, diarrhoea and stomach cramps, according to the Food Standards Authority (FSA), and the regulator is warning anyone who has purchased the item not to consume it.

Those experiencing these symptoms are also being told to avoid work, school or nursery for at least 48 hours after recovery, to prevent spreading it to others.

All Good4U Super Sprouts Super Greens 60g packets with use by dates up to and including May 3, 2026, are covered by the withdrawal, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Publishing a product withdrawal notice for the item, the FSA stated: “If you have bought the above product, do not eat it. Instead, return it to where you bought it. For more information, you can contact info@good4u.ie.”

Point of sale notices should also be displayed in all retail stores which are selling the product. These will inform shoppers about the recall, and provide information on what to do if they have bought the item.

Several other product recalls have also been announced recently for items available at UK supermarkets, including Tesco and Aldi.

Major retailer Tesco is withdrawing its Tesco Finest Summer Edition Chocolate Affogato Dessert as it may contain plastic fragments.

While Aldi is pulling Fishmonger Hot Smoked two Salmon Fillets due to a labelling mistake.
