Scarlett Moffatt became the first contestant eliminated from I’m A Celebrity’s historic all-male final, gutted to miss out as the last girl standing in All Stars camp
Scarlett Moffatt was heartbroken to depart I’m A Celebrity and was eager for some female representation in the final. The former Gogglebox star, 35, finished last in the ‘Keep your eye on the ball’ challenge which led to her leaving the camp tonight and resulted in an all-male final, the first in over two decades on the ITV show.
Speaking afterwards, a disappointed Scarlett said: “I’m gutted that it’s four blokes left. I wanted to do it for the girls! I’ll let them enjoy their football chat around the table.”
She had been seen confessing on the show that the conversation had become rather male-oriented but insisted she was “doing it for all the ladies that were in camp now” and added “I can’t let them down”.
Reflecting on her second stint in the camp, she told hosts Ant and Dec: “I’m just gutted I felt like I was so close, I was the last girl standing.
“This show honestly means everything to us, sorry if i cry, but it does. I just feel like growing up i watched you two on SMTV live and hearing your accents made me feel like if I wanted to do it, then I could, cos of you two. It means a lot. I’ve really had the best time.”, reports the Mirror.
In an interview back at the hotel, Scarlet, who won and was jungle queen in 2016, added: “Last time I felt like a bit of an imposter. I was only twenty-five, I didn’t really know where my place was or who I was as a person. I enjoyed it, but a lot of the time I felt overwhelmed. Whereas this time around, I know who I am so I just enjoyed it and went in there less intimidated.”
She continued: “Everyone was eccentrically wonderful and so different. Because we’d all done it before, there was some sense of calm. We weren’t constantly on edge, because we knew our way around camp life.”
Scarlett, who revealed her pregnancy this week, singled out Harry for commendation, describing him as akin to “your grandad” but also noting his impressive fitness.
However, when asked who she wanted to win, she didn’t hesitate and responded: “Mo. Genuinely, even if I’d got into the final, I’d have said to people, ‘If you were thinking of voting for me, you should vote for Mo’. Nobody deserves it as much as him. I really do hope he wins!”
Having also formed a close bond with Ashley Roberts and discussed serious topics like miscarriage in the camp, Scarlett has made some lifelong friends.
Reflecting on what she would miss, she said: “The campfire chats are what I’m going to miss the most. You have so much time in there, with no distractions, all you do is chat and reflect. Sir Mo Farah is such an amazing soul. I couldn’t get over how forgiving he was, how kind he was. I think he’s made me a better person.”
