An eerie mark on the back of President Trump’s hand has sparked health fears as potential peace talks surrounding the ongoing conflict in the Middle East stall
Fears over US President Donald Trump’s health have been sparked after a mysterious discoloured mark was spotted on the president’s hand.
The mysterious “bruise” on the back of the president’s hand was spotted during an interview at Palm Springs, Florida, while the US leader was discussing his decision to cancel a US envoy’s trip to Pakistan for talks surrounding the Iran war.
Speaking to Fox News, Trump revealed he won’t be sending his envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Islamabad, Pakistan, for potential peace talks. The president stated: “We have all the cards, they have none. If they want to talk, all they have to do is call.”
Regardless of the claims, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson has stated there was “no meeting is planned to take place between Iran and the US.”
Despite both nations’ claims, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz has said the country is committed to acting as a mediator between both Washington and Tehran.
In a statement on X Pakistan’s Prime minster affirmed the country “remains committed to serve as an honest and sincere facilitator – working tirelessly to advance durable peace and lasting stability in the region.”
This not the first instance of discoloured markings on President Trump’s hand leading to speculation about his health.
Back in January Trump broke his silence concerning a previous dark blob on the back of his hand stating he “clipped it” on a table while he was in Switzerland. Earlier this year the US president confirmed he had been prescribed aspirin to help thin his blood.
Commenting on the prescription Trump spoke of the pros of Aspirin, the 79-year-old said: “I would say, take aspirin if you like your heart, but don’t take aspirin if you don’t want to have a little bruising.
“I take the big aspirin, and when you take the big aspirin, they tell you, you bruise. The doctor said, ‘You don’t have to take that, sir, you’re very healthy.’ I said, ‘I’m not taking any chance.”
Trump added: “They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don’t want thick blood pouring through my heart.”
“I take the larger one. But I’ve done it for years, and what it does do is it causes bruising.”
Dr Jonathan Reiner, a professor at George Washington University’s School of Medicine and Health Sciences, previously said the bruising could be a sign that Trump is on stronger blood-thinner medications than aspirin, raising questions about whether he has disclosed all the medicines he’s on.
Last year, the White House revealed Trump was suffering from a chronic vein condition, a condition which can cause swollen ankles.
On the diagnosis Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said: “President Trump is a man of the people, and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands on a daily basis than any other president in history. His commitment is unwavering and he proves that every single day.”
