The four-part series is being made by Louis Theroux’s BAFTA-winning production company
The team behind Netflix hit Inside the Manosphere have just unveiled their next documentary.
Arriving this summer, the four-part series will take viewers inside the world of “one of Britain’s most enduring celebrity figures.” That famous face is Katie Price, who teases in the documentary trailer that she has “nothing to hide.”
The former model turned TV personality shot to fame in the nineties after appearing as her alter-ego ‘Jordan’ on Page 3 of The Sun. She has since seen her entire life play out in the public eye since becoming a public figure, including her marriages, motherhood, cosmetic procedures and even bankruptcy.
Her daughter Princess, who she shares with ex Peter Andre, has also followed in her mum’s footsteps with her own reality series for ITV. Princess also made a cameo in the latest season of Tyson Fury’s fly-on-the-wall Netflix docuseries, At Home with the Furys.
A synopsis for the upcoming Katie Price series, which will air on Sky and NOW, teases: “This archive-led retrospective goes beyond the headlines, with intimate access to Katie and those closest to her – some for decades, some for pivotal moments, and some whose stories have never been told – to candidly examine the consequences of placing herself, and those around her, at the centre of public attention.”
Louis Theroux’s Mindhouse production company are behind the upcoming release which is yet to receive an official release date. It is to be directed by Paddy Wivell whose previous documentaries include Channel 4’s Prison, which followed the day-to-day lives of incarcerated people.
Mindhouse’s most recent film, Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere, was a huge hit for Netflix, offering a glimpse at the male influencers who are promoting extreme ideas of what masculinity should look like.
Aaron Fellows, Mindhouse’s co-founder and creative director, said: “Katie’s 30 years in the spotlight have been truly extraordinary. This series doesn’t shy away from – in Katie’s own words – ’the good, the bad and the ugly’; and this is an unexpected re-appraisal of a woman many people feel they have already figured out.
“Paddy and the team have spoken to a range of contributors who have crossed paths with Katie at different junctures of her life – through the ups, the downs and everything in between – and in doing so have crafted a series that is as jaw-dropping and unpredictable as it is tender and surprising. I can’t wait for people to see it.”
Katie Price: Nothing to Hide is available to watch on Sky and NOW this summer, though an exact release date is yet to be announced.
