Theo Silverton has been confirmed to be the murder victim on Coronation Street but fans have ‘worked out’ another resident’s murder
Coronation Street fans are certain another character has been killed off following Theo Silverton’s murder.
For the past five days, the ITV soap has aired a special murder week – with the episodes revisiting the same day, but each one is seen from the perspective of a different potential victim.
The victims include Theo (James Cartwright), Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard), Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances Brown), Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) and Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn).
And in Friday’s episode (May 1), it was revealed that Theo was the dead body discovered by Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) in the flash-forward episode that aired in February.
Elsewhere in the episode, Carl was seen flatlining in hospital after he was left fighting for his life when someone menacingly let down a car jack while he was under a car in the garage. And Maggie confronted predator Megan and almost killed her until grandson Will (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) turned up.
However, while Theo has now been confirmed as the murder victim, fans are certain that another resident has been killed off as well. On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person said: “I think Carl’s died as well and his death will be revealed next week.”
Someone else added: “Yeah two die I reckon.” A third chimed in: “I think that too and then at least Debbie can say goodbye to him in hospital.” Another penned: “I think they’ve pulled a plot twist and Theo’s unconscious but it’s Carl who actually dies?”
Meanwhile earlier this year, Corrie producer Kate Brooks spoke about the flash-forward twist and murder week. She said: “This is something that’s been in the making for a really long time.
“There are five potential victims, and we will take the audience on a journey to try and figure out who that body is and what happened. It is a who have they done it to, not a whodunit.”
She said the special episode will give the current storylines an end point as they are interweaved into this flashforward.
She added: “I don’t think I’ve ever told a story that involves quite as many character groups. Everyone’s impacted – everyone’s affected by this story. There’s so many twists and so many turns.”
Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX
