A suspected Nazi extremist accused of plotting to kill the heir to the Dutch throne Princess Catharina-Amalia and her sister Princess Alexia has been arrested after his alleged plan was foiled
A man suspected of being a sick far-right extremist has been arrested after his alleged plot to brutally murder two Princesses was uncovered.
The suspect is accused of targeting the heir to the throne of the Netherlands Princess Catharina-Amalia, 22, and her younger sister Princess Alexia who is second in line. The princesses are the eldest two daughters of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and his partner Queen Máxima.
The 33-year-old was allegedly found with a pair of axes decorated in sick Nazi slogans as well as the names of the two young royals. Other messages thought to have been engraved on the weapon were Mossad” and “Seig Heil”, a common salute used by Nazis, and “blood bath”, according to Dutch officials.
The suspect was arrested in the Dutch city of The Hague in February, according to officials. He will face an initial court hearing on Monday. Police have yet to highlight a motive for the alleged murder plot.
Horribly, the alleged plot is not the first time the Dutch royals have been targeted. in 2020, the two Princesses’ younger sister Ariane, who is 19 now and was only 13 at the time, was forced to go into hiding after being sent a series of grim death and rape threats.
In 2022 the young Princess was targeted again, being made to leave her student accommodation in the Dutch capital Amsterdam and return home to into the royal palace in The Hague after she was deemed unsafe.
Her mother Queen Máxima described threats had “enormous consequences” for her daughter’s life, according to The Sun.
Princess Ariane was then subjected to even more horrific disruption when she was forced to move to Madrid and live under constant protection after her name appeared in intercepted communications between violent cartel gang members.
A police statement read: “The Public Prosecution Service suspects a 33-year-old man of preparing an attack on Princess Amalia and Princess Alexia in February 2026 in The Hague.”
“The suspect was allegedly in possession of two axes in early February with the words ‘Alexia’, ‘Mossad’, and ‘Sieg Heil’ carved into them, and he allegedly had a handwritten sheet with the words ‘Amalia’, ‘Alexia’, and ‘Bloedbad’.”
