Tough guy actor Tom Hardy has been a perfect fit for the gritty Paramount+ series MobLand, but now producers have reportedly given him the boot − and culled him from the next season

Tom Hardy has reportedly been “fired” from MobLand due to alleged clashes with producers behind the scenes of the divisive drama.

British heartthrob Tom, 48, had been on the set of his Paramount+ series when it is alleged a number of clashes took place. The second season has already finished filming, but now Tom will now not appear in the third season of the show.

The information came from the Puck newsletter, written by former editor of The Hollywood Reporter. There, it was revealed that the actor had been involved in several arguments with the creative team behind the show.

Matthew Belloni said: “I’m told Paramount recently opted not to pick up Hardy for season three after his clashes with producers Jez Butterworth and David Glasser, among others, during the recent production of season two.” It has been confirmed following season 2, Tom will not be making a comeback, according to the Sun.

Tom, who is best known for his roles in gritty dramas such as Peaky Blinders and The Dark Knight Rises, is said to have infuriated producers. He is now believed to have been let go from the show as a result of consistent arguments.

In the show, actor Tom was a main actor − playing the role of Harry Da Souza, one of the lynchpins of the Harrigan crime family. He also was part of a stellar line-up for the show, including Helen Mirren and Pierce Brosnan.

But after the first season was released last year, MobLand was met with mixed reviews. Many fans admitted they were not impressed with Irish-born Pierce’s unconvincing Irish accent as he attempted to thicken his accent up for his role as Conrad Harrigan.

Before his unceremonious exit, it had been claimed Tom was planning to take a sabbatical once filming wrapped on season 2. Dad-of-three Tom said he was ready “to have a rest” after a series of intense acting projects.

He previously admitted to Esquire UK that his packed schedule was doing a lot of damage to his body. He admitted: “I’ve had two knee surgeries now, my disc’s herniated in my back.

“I’ve got sciatica as well. And I have that… is it plantar fasciitis? Where did that come from? And why? Why?! And I pulled my tendon in my hip as well.

“It’s all falling to bits now,” he added, “and it’s not going to get better.” The Daily Star has approached Tom’s and Paramount’s respective representatives for comment.
