Go Compare star Wynne Evans has said he ‘doesn’t know where he’s going to live’ after his BBC Radio Wales contract was not renewed and he was dropped from the Strictly Come Dancing live tour following an ‘inappropriate and unacceptable’ remark.
Wynne Evans revealed he was departing his BBC Radio Wales programme after the corporation “decided not to renew” his contract last year. Before this, the opera performer had been dropped from the Strictly Come Dancing live tour following an “inappropriate and unacceptable” comment during the December launch.
The BBC confirmed that Wynne’s contract would not be renewed, declaring there are “currently no plans to work with him”.
The 54 year old has now spoken openly about his future intentions as the Go Compare performer disclosed he is vacating his primary home over the coming six months. The former BBC Radio Wales host explained he intended to journey around with his cherished dog Ginny.
In a frank video shared on his Instagram Stories, the ex-Strictly contestant admitted, “I don’t know where I’m going to be living”.
Wynne explained: “I’m renting my house out for six months. I fancied a change. I just fancied something different. So Ginny and I, [panned camera to his dog] we’re going on the open road.
“We got a few things booked. A few holidays booked so we’ve got to head to those places.”, reports the Express.
He continued: “But yeah… come with us. I don’t know where we’re going to end up living. Going to stay in Cardiff for a bit.
“I know in the next six months I’ve got a new job starting. In fact, I’ve got two new jobs. It’s going to be a crazy, crazy time. Probably not the wisest time to move out of your house but let’s do it.”
Wynne is most recognised as the face, and voice, of the Go Compare adverts, and has also topped the charts with two classical music albums.
In addition to BBC Radio Wales, he has previously hosted shows on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM, and is a Celebrity Masterchef champion.
