- Emmerdale’s Charity Dingle faces her darkest hour as she struggles with the aftermath of Dr Caitlin Todd’s sexual assault.
- The Woolpack co-owner has been blackmailed for weeks after evil Dr Todd discovered that Charity and Ross Barton are baby Leyla’s biological parents. Charity acted as surrogate for granddaughter Sarah and Jacob, who believe the baby is theirs.
- After bravely reporting the attack to police, Charity lies to doctor Manpreet Sharma about her breakdown being postnatal depression in upcoming scenes. She’s prescribed medication but feels utterly alone as she struggles to open up about her trauma.
- When Mack Boyd returns and tells Sarah about Charity’s troubles, a desperate Charity washes sleeping pills down with wine. Sarah feels guilty, believing her gran’s pain stems from the surrogacy arrangement.
