Donald Trump visited the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for his latest medical checkup, where his physician recorded that a record number of 22 specialists were seen.

Concerns over President Donald Trump’s health have escalated as he consulted a record ’22 specialists’ during his most recent medical examination.

The disclosed figure has sparked speculation about the state of Trump’s health.

Trump attended the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where his personal physician, Navy Captain Sean Barbarella, noted the number in a memo dated 29 May.

This is the highest number of specialists a United States President has consulted during a physical, according to records. At Trump’s previous check-up in April 2025, he saw 14 doctors.

The Washington Post reported in 1989 that then-President George HW Bush consulted five specialists, while his son George W Bush saw 12 in 2001.

In 2024, it was revealed that Joe Biden consulted a team of ’20 doctors’ for his medical exam.

However, press secretary Jean-Pierre did not disclose how many of those doctors were specialists.

Over the past 14 months, Trump has made three publicised visits to Walter Reed.

These include his physical in April 2025, another check-up including a CT scan in October, and the examination at the end of last month.

Following Trump’s recent examination, it was concluded that he “remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function.”

The President was listed at 75 inches, 238 pounds – 14 pounds heavier than last year – but with a healthy resting heart rate and normal blood pressure.

The report states that he takes two cholesterol medications and aspirin for his heart.

Despite this finding, there have been multiple worries about the president’s health during his second term.

Trump has consistently rejected claims of physical or mental decline, insisting he is in “perfect health” despite visible bruising, swelling and apparent memory lapses.

Posting on Truth Social following the appointment, Mr Trump maintained he remained in “perfect” health, writing: “Just finished my 6 month physical at Walter Reed Military Medical Centre.

“Everything checked out PERFECTLY. Thank you to the great Doctors and Staff! Heading back to the White House.”

The US turns 80 on Sunday and is the oldest person ever elected to the presidency, beating his predecessor Joe Biden by some five months.

A White House spokesperson said: “The involvement of multiple specialists reflects a comprehensive, multidisciplinary evaluation consistent with best practices for executive-level medical care.”
