Love Island viewers have taken to social media to slam their long-term favourite following a controversial scene

Love Island viewers have turned against one of their cherished contestants following a ‘nasty’ scene in the most recent episode.

Series 13 of the smash-hit reality programme is in full swing, and numerous Islanders have established themselves in cosy couples.

However, the beloved heartrate challenge has unleashed mayhem amongst the most solid pairings, including business owner Jasmine and electrician Kavan.

In Wednesday’s (June 24) instalment, Kavan was left stunned when newcomer Tommy spat in Jasmine’s mouth during his steamy dance routine.

The 21-year-old was even more furious when he discovered that Jasmine had actively encouraged Tommy to make the audacious gesture.

When he eventually challenged his partner, Jasmine clarified that she presumed Tommy was going to spit in her mouth regardless and simply went along with it.

Despite her justification, Kavan remained troubled about their bond because he felt she might not value their relationship as deeply as he does.

It appears viewers at home have not only sided with Kavan in the row, but they have also abandoned long-standing favourite Jasmine, reports OK!.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one said: “Nah that was gross… Jasmine girl what are you doing #Lovelsland #LovelslandUK.”

Someone else agreed: “Letting someone spit in ur mouth might be insane, I dunno if I can defend #LoveIsland.”

While a third added: “Let’s not lie that Tommy Jasmine thing was nastyyy #loveisland #loveislanduk.”

Yet another fan chimed in: “Bro, Jas allowed another man to spit into her mouth and swallowed it. Why are people acting like that’s not wild asf??!!! #loveislanduk.”

With a final viewer confessing: “Never thought I’d start disliking Jasmine but here we are.”

However, one fan argued: “ITS A HEART RATE CHALLENGE KAVAN WHO CARES ABOUT THE SPIT.”

Another remarked: “ok the spit in the mouth thing is really not that deep.”

Kavan and Jasmine have already sorted out their row, but viewers aren’t convinced the pair are heading towards a break up.

Just last night (June 23), the duo engaged in a blazing row after Kavan told Jasmine to “chill out” during a conversation with their co-stars.

She was livid that he cut across her chat to shut her up, but Kavan maintained that she was telling him off like a schoolchild. Given the pair’s recent squabbles, they may not survive much longer.

Love Island airs Sundays to Fridays at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
