Friends star Courteney Cox splits from Snow Patrol boyfriend

The comedy legend’s decade-long relationship with the musician ended at the end of last year, it has been reported by sources, with the split said to be “amicable”.

Friends star Courteney Cox has split from her long term Snow Patrol partner Johnny McDaid after 13 years together. The comedy legend’s decade-long relationship with the Irish musician ended at the end of last year, it has been reported.

Sources say the split is “amicable” and pals say although they still care for each other “very much”, the long distance and differing schedules got too much for them to juggle, so they decided to call it a day.

The pair first met in 2013 after being introduced through their mutual friend, Brit star Ed Sheeran, and up until recently they had been splitting their time between the US and the UK, which led them to live “different lives” before the break up.

They did get engaged for a short time after getting together but, after breaking up in 2015, they got back together in 2016 and have stayed as partners ever since.

Although they have spoken about each other in interviews and been seen out and about together in the past, it has been several months since the exes have been seen together.

A friend told The Mail on Sunday : “Johnny speaks incredibly highly of Courteney. They had a very deep relationship and they remain extremely amicable. They are great friends and care about each other very much.”

Sources say they have been apart officially for many months but there has not been anything negative in the press because there is no bad blood shared between them.

The insider continued: “This was not an ugly split. They had simply reached a point where they were living different lives.”

Johnny is believed to be in the early stages of a new relationship already but it is believed that Courteney is still single.

Courteney shares a daughter, Coco, with her ex-husband and Scream co-star David Arquette.
