Sickening Megan Walsh’s stint on Coronation Street could be coming to an end soon

Coronation Street spoilers have revealed what’s next for Megan Walsh after her trial.

Evil Megan (played by Beth Nixon) made her debut on the ITV soap last year, as the athletics coach of Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) who moved from Hull to Weatherfield with his family.

However, it was later revealed that Megan had secretly been grooming 16-year-old Will for months, prior to his move. She was also pregnant with his child, with the pair planning to eventually move away together.

The truth came out about Megan and Will’s relationship and Will later reported Megan to the police, in which she was arrested.

Since then, Megan has shown no remorse and has even tried to get back inside Will’s head to try and get him to change his story. And this week, it was time for the trial to take place, with lawyer Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) pleading the twisted peadophile’s case.

However, in Tuesday’s episode (June 30) Will ended up crumbling while giving evidence in court. During his testimony, after locking eyes with Megan, he shocked everyone by changing his story, in a bid to protect her.

He lied and insisted there was no relationship and that Megan had done nothing wrong. After his outburst, the jury was sent home, but the prosecution was still hopeful that Will could be put back on the stand.

Meanwhile, Will’s dad Ben (Aaron McCusker) also took to the stand and was brutally cross-examined by Adam. In the dock, Megan conjures up more lies, painting herself as the innocent party and goes on to question Ben’s parenting.

And spoilers for the rest of the week have revealed that Will tells his family that if the judge will allow him to testify again, he wants to tell the full truth about what happened. He enters the witness box and prepares to give evidence.

Later on, the Driscoll’s return home and tells brother Ollie (Raphael Akuwudike) that Megan’s fate is now in the hands of the jury.

And in next week’s episodes, Ben takes a call informing him that the verdict is in. Eva gives him a supportive squeeze and in the court, the jury delivers their verdict. But has justice been served?

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX
