A man looking to lose weight at his local gym has been told to go elsewhere after customers complained about his sweat and terrible smell, leading to management issuing the bloke with a ban

An unfortunate bloke whose stench led to a string of complaints at his local gym has been banned from the premises in a bid to keep the rest of the customers coming back.

The stinky lad, identified in local reports as simply Shi, is believed to have been spent nearly £1000 on membership fees to the swanky gym near his home in Hangzhou, China in a bid to lose weight.

And despite dropping from 125kg to an impressive 80kg, the poor lad will now need to work out elsewhere after being permanently barred, despite his membership running until April 2028.

Shi is reportedly known to emit substantial amounts of sweat while at the gym, as well as a distracting stench of body odour that was putting off other customers and leading to complaints.

Some customers would avoid using machines after Shi, while others would make sure to stay out of his vicinity for the entirety of the workout.

Despite the gym lover having paid upfront for a three year membership, Shi has now been barred from the premises due to his off-putting funk.

According to the South China Morning Post, the gym told Shi: “We thought it through carefully for a long time before making this decision. We will refund your money for the remaining time of your membership period. We are already under pressure to do business amid the economic downturn and we are trying to treat each customer well.

“But many customers repeatedly complained to us that the strong odour in the gym had affected them. So we have to end your membership.”

Reports state that the gym had tried to implement measures before issuing the all out ban, including cordoning off an area of the facility just for Shi and having him work out during off-peak periods. These did not work however, and the complaints continued to pile up.

Shi has thankfully received a partial refund of 3,888 yuan (around £430) for the portion of his membership that he didn’t use. He has also been handed a three-month membership to a different gym although he reportedly said this was further away from his house.

The smelly bloke told Zhejiang TV that he had begun to bring towels to the gym in order to wipe sweat, but that this had not been enough.
