Moritz Borman, the film producer behind Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation and The Crow: Salvation, has sadly died suddenly aged 71 in Munich
Moritz Borman has died aged 71. The legendary producer, whose credits include several Oliver Stone films along with Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation, The Crow: Salvation among others, died on July 1 in Munich, where he was filming an upcoming movie.
His longtime producing partners confirmed he died of natural causes. In a heartbreaking statement, Eric Kopeloff and Philip Schulz-Deyle, who working with Borman on John Lee Hancock’s untitled Monsanto movie for Netflix, praised him for his “generoisity and unwavering passion for cinema”.
They told Deadline: “It is with profound sadness that we, as Moritz Borman’s longtime producing partners, announce his passing.. Moritz was one of the most accomplished and respected independent producers of his generation. Over a career spanning more than four decades, he produced more than 25 feature films, frequently collaborating with Oliver Stone. Moritz’s films include Under the Volcano, The Quiet American, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation, Alexander, World Trade Center, W, Savages, Snowden.”
They continued: “As both a producer and entrepreneur, Moritz helped shape the landscape of independent filmmaking, building creative and financial bridges between Europe and Hollywood. He will be remembered not only for his achievements, but also for his generosity, optimism, integrity, and unwavering passion for cinema.”, reports the Express.
Most recently, Moritz dedicated himself to bringing our forthcoming John Lee Hancock feature to the screen. Following many years of development, he felt immense pride seeing the project finally begin production.

Bormon had accumulated numerous producing credits throughout his 40 year career, including the Stone-directed Snowden, Alexander, Savages, W. and World Trade Center.
His other works encompassed films such as Under the Volcano, Mindhunters, K-10: The Widowmaker and Basic Instinct 2.
Borman also produced pictures including Where the Money Is, Up at the Villa, Philip Noyce’s The Quiet American and Neil LaBute’s Nurse Betty. That film featured Renée Zellweger, Morgan Freeman, Chris Rock and Greg Kinnear and had its premiere at the 2000 Cannes Film Festival.
