A football legend’s former girlfriend, who became Scotland’s oldest Playboy model, was left fuming after discovering his racy pictures were being used to trick men on Tinder and Hinge

A football legend’s ex-girlfriend was horrified to discover her glam photos were being used to trick men on Tinder and Hinge.

Stephanie Heaney made headlines when she was in a relationship with ex-Rangers goal machine and fan favourite Nacho Novo and when she famously became Scotland’s oldest Playboy model at the age of 38. But the now 41-year-old mum was shocked to find out that her image was being exploited in a “horrible” scam on the two dating websites.

Novo, who celebrated his 47th birthday last week, played for Rangers between 2004 and 2010, scoring 73 goals in 255 games, including 25 in his debut season. The three-time Scottish Premier League winner dated Stephanie during the end of his career and early retirement and she was by his side when he suffered a heart attack playing for Rangers legends at the AOK Masters in Berlin, before being rushed to hospital and undergoing emergency surgery.

But after her own health battles, Stephanie dumped the Spanish striker. And at the end of last year, the model was contacted by men from across England who were fooled by fake dating profiles using her sizzling hot pics to entrap them.

Stephanie, who said that she felt her privacy had been violated, called on dating app companies to strengthen user protection measures.

One person who was tricked reached out to her via direct message, saying: “Evening, I don’t use Facebook but wanted to reactivate this to drop you a message to say I was speaking with you yesterday on Tinder.

“They had this name, said you own your own beauty business and then asked a lot about my job and what I earn and whether I can keep up with someone high maintenance.”

The conversation suddenly stopped when he suggested shifting their chat to Facebook, causing him to realise that Stephanie’s images were being stolen without her permission.

Having encountered this previously, Stephanie stressed that nobody has the right to exploit her online photographs. She subsequently issued a warning on social media, encouraging anyone who discovers her name or images on Tinder or Hinge to report the accounts.

She fumed: “Most people I encounter online are generally lovely people so there are kind decent people in the UK but that small minority do horrible things like scam and manipulate others. These companies should be doing more to stop it.”

Stephanie previously told Daily Sport Star that men send her cash in exchange for racy requests, but she was also targeted by trolls because of her previous relationship with Novo.

She said: “I get more trolling from football fans than anything else because I used to go out with a footballer. To be honest, I’m now kind of used to it. I know who I am and these people don’t know me.

“They don’t know anything about me. Those trolls mean nothing to me and if this is what they do with their time, troll women, then they need to look at themselves more. It used to bother me when I was younger but now I just don’t care.”
