Emmerdale’s Kevin Mathurin, best known as vicar Charles Anderson, has been in a relationship with a famous face for several years

Kevin Mathurin has been a mainstay on Emmerdale for several years, and off-screen – he’s smitten with another well-known personality.

Actor Kevin first graced the popular ITV soap in 2020 as vicar Charles Anderson – and it wasn’t long before he won over the audience.

Over time, he’s been embroiled in numerous major plotlines. From Charles’ ill-fated love affair with Manpreet Sharma (portrayed by Rebecca Sarker) to the demise of his son Ethan (Emile John), his stint in the village has been anything but uneventful.

Moreover, in 2023, Charles’ mother Claudette (Flo Wilson) arrived in the Dales and promptly stirred things up, notorious for her meddling tendencies.

Away from the enduring ITV soap, however, Charles actor Kevin leads a much less tumultuous life and is besotted with his long-standing partner, who also happens to be a celebrity, reports the Mirror.

Since 2011, Kevin has been romantically involved with international DJ Nikki Beatnik – who collaborates with A-list celebrities including Kelis, Jay-Z and Kanye West. Like her beau Kevin, Nikki is also part of the entertainment industry, working as a producer and DJ.

In 2016, she discussed her career, telling The Standard: “I’ve met some cool, interesting people.” She reminisced: “One night Spike Jones hung out with me in the booth, but I didn’t say a word to him because I was just too busy DJing.

“Another time, we went out with Tom Jones and were like, ‘This is crazy’. I did parties for Alicia Keys a few times, and she’d have people like Stevie Wonder coming.”

The couple share a son named Harley. Harley marked his eighth birthday in September 2022 and his father posted a heartfelt message on Instagram.

Alongside a snap of his lad dressed as Darth Vader, he wrote: “Happy Birthday Harley. Can’t believe you are 8 years old already. May the force always be with you.”

Meanwhile in 2023, Kevin – who travels from the family home in South London to Leeds where Emmerdale is shot – spoke candidly about his partnership with Nikki.

He disclosed she would have “killed him” if he hadn’t taken on the part of Charles on Emmerdale because she understands how much it means to him.

“I do feel guilty being away from the family, especially when the schedule is really busy and I am working five days in a week. It breaks my heart when I get a little voice message from my eight-year-old son, Harley, saying he misses me,” Kevin told OK.

“And it’s especially hard for Nikki as she is the one juggling all the school runs and after-school activities, but knowing Harley and my 14-year-old daughter, Gracie, are missing their dad.

“Even if I have had a busy day filming, I will always have so much empathy for Nikki when we catch up on a video call in the evening.”

Kevin further stated: “But she also understands what it is like to have a job you love. She has a job she loves too. And thankfully if we are both away with our jobs, we’ve got the grandparents to help out.”
