Police have recovered the body of a teenage girl from Kingsbury Water Park in Warwickshire.
Officers were called to Bodymoor Heath Lane shortly after 6pm on Monday 25 May. Emergency services attended following concerns being raised about a teenage girl in the water. A search was conducted across Kingsbury Water Park, resulting in the discovery of a body at around 7.20pm.
Paramedics battled desperately to save the girl, but she was tragically declared dead at the scene. Her family have been informed.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is now underway. Officers will be maintaining a presence at Kingsbury Water Park in the coming days and have urged the public not to speculate about the incident.
A spokesman for Atherstone and Coleshill Police said: “We can confirm that, sadly, the body of a teenage girl was recovered from the water shortly after 7.20pm.
” Despite the efforts of emergency services, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
“Her next of kin has been informed, and they are being supported by specially trained officers. Over the coming days, we will have officers in the area providing reassurance, so if you have any questions, please speak to them.
“An investigation into the circumstances has begun, and we would ask people to avoid speculation about what has happened. Our thoughts remain with her family and friends during this difficult time.”
